Thanks everyone. I managed to update to 1.8.1. using the factory tool indeed. Now I am a happy C67ML user. The battery drain is still comparable to the earlier versions is my idea. But I can live with that.

Have you installed a battery saver app? This will make a difference by forcing the device into deep sleep.

Hi there - was hoping to not be in this situation - but i have managed to finally update to 1.81 (I think) but I have the boot loop situation.

I am used to the 'first boot' taking a long time after flashing a ROM - but this has been many hours and I think it must be in the loop.

I was hoping that the tools that were mentioned in this thread could be re-uloaded please as I woudl like to finish the upgrade.

That would be fab if possible.

Thanks so much

Hi Wassadude. Sorry, I got rid of the software. Did you use the right update package? You have a regular C67ML, or the carta+ or 2+. There are different updates for the different versions of the product. Please check again, and also check the onyx site http://www.onyx-international.com/in...e-for-artatech. There is an update to 1.8.2 now. Apparently they still see room for improvement for these old devices...;-). Good luck.

You might need the rockchip factory tool here: https://androidmtk.com/download-rockchip-factory-tool. See the thread here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=283559
