HTML Conversion Error
Hi Kovid,
After upgrading to the latest version of Calibre (0.4.109), I tried to convert an HTML file and got this error: list index out of range Detailed traceback: Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\dialogs\lrf_single.pyo", line 383, in accept File "calibre\gui2\dialogs\lrf_single.pyo", line 357, in write_metadata File "calibre\library\database2.pyo", line 861, in set_title File "calibre\library\database2.pyo", line 521, in set_path File "calibre\library\database2.pyo", line 668, in add_format File "calibre\library\database2.pyo", line 235, in refresh_ids IndexError: list index out of range Any ideas? TIA |

The conversion goes through but when I try to view it, I get this stack error:
'PageTree' object has no attribute '_contents' Detailed traceback: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files\calibre\library.zip\calibre\gui2\lrf_rendere r\main.py", line 183, in parsed File "calibre\gui2\lrf_renderer\document.pyo", line 472, in render File "calibre\ebooks\lrf\objects.pyo", line 186, in __iter__ AttributeError: 'PageTree' object has no attribute '_contents' I saw a similar thread on this issue but the suspect was a DRM'ed PDF. In my case, I took an article from the NYTimes, saved as HTML and dropped it into Calibre. |

That page converts with 0.4.115, but the converted file contains mangled characters, which is not surprising considering that the HTML doesn't even display in firefox.

I noticed the error trying to open it after conversion, but I don't have any problems reading the HTML in Firefox. Did it get corrupted when I uploaded it? Can you try this version in your browser?

That's good news
It works fine when I convert it, but when I try to open the lrf, I get this error: 'PageTree' object has no attribute '_contents' Detailed traceback: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files\calibre\library.zip\calibre\gui2\lrf_rendere r\main.py", line 183, in parsed File "calibre\gui2\lrf_renderer\document.pyo", line 472, in render File "calibre\ebooks\lrf\objects.pyo", line 186, in __iter__ AttributeError: 'PageTree' object has no attribute '_contents' |

Convert it on the command line (the original HTML file) and you should be fine. Alternatively, wait for the next release to convert in the GUI
