sc: A Kindle Spreadsheet!

Name: sc - spreadsheet calculator. Another vintage(2002) linux command line application from the debian jessie armel repository...KUAL-ified for the Kindles!

Version: 7.16-4

Authors: James Gosling, Mark Weiser, Martin Schulze and others.

From the README: "This is a much modified version of the public domain spread sheet sc, originally by James Gosling, and posted a number of years ago by Mark Weiser as vc."

Kindle background:
There used to be a paid active content spreadsheet application on the Amazon website.
Some attempt was made by twobob to port gnumeric to the kindles. See threads: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ht=spreadsheet and https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ht=spreadsheet
It actually seems to have run on twobob's kindles.. but he couldn't make a public release.
The application here is not a graphic one like gnumeric, but is quite usable and has a lot of features.

Needs: Jailbroken Kindle, KUAL, kterm.

Should work on: All Kindles from KT1 onwards. Tested OK on: PW1.

Installation and usage:
  • Extract the zip(sc.zip) into /mnt/us/extensions/.
  • After selecting the sc button in KUAL, a kterm window opens in landscape mode(for better usage convenience on kindles), with the required library pre-loaded.
  • For a tutorial type 'sc tutorial.sc'.
  • To start your own spreadseet, type 'sc mysheet.sc', or similar.
  • After the spreadsheet opens, enter ? for help.
  • Type q to quit. Type x to clear a cell. Type =1, =2, etc. to enter numbers. Use arrow keys to move around.
  • For more detailed instructions, see the files in the attached sc-docs zip file: sc-manual.txt and scqref.txt
PW1 screenshots attached.
