I have been using Calibre in Windows and am in the process of switching over to Linux Mint.
I update the Metadata when I add new books. I noticed that most of the time when I got the results there was no summary available when using Linux . If I rebooted and ran the same Metadata update in Windows I almost always get summary results. After looking at the list of sources Calibre offers to search for Metadata information is severely lacking in Linux compared to the Windows version of the program. Is there a way to add the same list of Metadata sources that Windows has to the Linux program? Last edited by TGPB; 04-10-2014 at 01:16 AM. |

Also DO make sure you are using the OFFICIAL calibre release for Linux and NOT one from your distribution. See http://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux for installation instructions.

I added the additional plug-ins and it added to the sources...Thanks....but it still did not return summary info in the Linux version. The same book in windows showed summary info from the same two sources that returned results (Amazon, GoodReads)
I am running the version of Calibre that came with Linux Mint. I will install the updated version right now and let you know if this resolves my problem...Double Thanks! |

The distro version is almost always really old, but don't worry, lots of people make that mistake their first time.
