Has anyone else seen a constant sight of Lorem Ipsum lately?

I've seen it approximately 12 times on the internet on a total of 9 sites.

Also, a demo nook had lorem ipsum on it.

LOL!! It's standard "placeholder" text just about everywhere.

Publishers or advertisers use "placerholder text" / "dummy text" to make people focus on the typeface and layout and not on the content. So if you see "lorem ipsum" on websites or in ads, someone has forgotten to replace it with the real text.

The "lorem ipsum"-text is probably the most popular dummy text. It is actually from Cicero's De finibus bonorum et malorum: The original passage began: Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit. ("Nobody likes pain for its own sake, or looks for it and wants to have it, just because it is pain...")
