Bypass found for Windows piracy check

This is not going to make Microsoft any happy...

A tool provided by Microsoft could let people get around a check meant to prevent those with pirated copies of Windows from downloading additional software from the company, according to a security researcher.

The pirates already had such tools.

This is just Microsoft's way of quietly saying that the check was a bad idea and that the only thing it did was piss off Microsoft customers - like the ones that are looking at Linux and other open source solutions instead of costly, insecure Microsoft solutions.
