Error when checking with ePub-Checker

I get the following error for every HTML document when using pagina EPUB-Checker (which uses ePubChecker 3.0.1):

Code:
ERROR: <book name>.epub/ops/xhtml/halftitle2.html(7,108): non-standard stylesheet resource 'ops/styles/page-template.xpgt' of type 'application/vnd.adobe-page-template+xml'. A fallback must be specified.
The HTML files look like:

Code:
  <link href="../Styles/9781439100516.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
  <link href="../Misc/page-template.xpgt" rel="stylesheet" type="application/vnd.adobe-page-template+xml" />
.

FlightCrew reports no problems and neither does the web site http://validator.idpf.org/application/validate, which I believe uses ePubChecker 3.0.

If I use the Calibre plugin "Modify ePub" and choose "Remove Adobe .xpgt files and links", the resulting ePub now validates perfectly in all tools used.

I would suggest you try the techniques list on this link. http://www.hxa.name/articles/content...7241_2007.html

Define the CSS to include the selector shown and see if this resolves the problem. See section 3.

Use of page-template.xpgt is non-standard and is an Adobe extension to ADE. The solution is to dump page-template.xpgt and the references to it. Set your margins in CSS and you'll be OK.

Question Error New ePub Valdiator epubcheck-3.0.1

Hi,

Please help me to resolve this issue. New validator gives this error non-standard stylesheet resource 'OPS/xhtml/page-template.xpgt' of type 'application/vnd.adobe-page-template+xml'. A fallback must be specified.

If I remove this line from Html file the the final does not look good in ADE.

Please help.

Re-code whatever you had in the xpgt file in the standard CSS, or ignore the error.

did you try the method I pointed you to in my response? You need a selector I think. You should try it before you give up.

Nope. You code the margins as standard margin code in the CSS.

Hi Dale,

Please guide me how to select a selector? I am unable to do so.

Regards,
Richa

Looking over your work I think the ePubcheck 3.01 is at fault. It is calling an error when it should be calling it a warning. This is not the only thing that ePubcheck calls an error when it should be a warning.

According to what I read this is a bug in 3.01 based upon http://code.google.com/p/epubcheck/issues/detail?id=271

I've got some experts working on this problem and I'll let you know what they come up with in 24-48 hours.

But when this error in epubcheck 3.0.1 is fixed, please have it flag that there is a page-template file. I don't want one and if it's there, I'll delete it. So having it flag that I forgot to delete it is a good thing.
