Ratings Imported from Book
Every once in a while, I'll add a new book from somewhere like library genesis and Calibre will import a rating from that book. I'd rather rate the book myself.

Instead of removing these ratings when they get imported, is there some way to turn off importing ratings? I've poked around, but never found a setting like that. Thanks!

If you are downloading meta-data then the rating came from there. Go to Preferences > Metadata Download and unclick Rating in there.

I found a thread from 2016 where Kovid addresses this... apparently the only option is to completely turn off reading metadata from the file. There's no way to selectively ignore ratings metadata.

Oh well...

You can use the Action Chains plugin to set/unset metadata when you add a book. Ask in the plugin thread for help.
