What do I backup for calibre settings

I need to do a reinstall soon and want to make things faster to setup when I do it.

What do I need to backup so the calibre settings are the same? where are the calibre configuration settings located and how do I back them up ? OR is there a quick way to make a settings backup lol

Preferences ==> Advanced ==> Miscellaneous

There is a button "Open calibre configuration directory" (see screenshot)

Also, many settings are contained within the database itself -- all the custom columns and anything else that is set per-library.

Just copy this folder to your backup, reinstall, then move it back to the same location (check the File Browser path).

Nothing special needed

• Open the config folder (Prefs->Misc->last button)
• Close calibre
• Go up to config folder parent (alt+up arrow in windows)
• Left button drag drop the calibre folder to ANOTHER device (eg a thumb drive) or right button drag drop it to say your desktop and select Copy here

I have a symlink to the config folder (C:\Users\BetterRed\AppData\Roaming\calibre) in the same folder as I keep my libraries (E:\Calibre Libraries)

All the UNhidden root level folders on E: get incrementally backed up every day to local storage, and weekly to a commercial FTP site using a folder/file synch utility. That includes the contents of folder symlinks.
