26% video iPad friendly

take it with the usual grain of salt, but fortune is reporting that 26% of video on the Internet is iDevice friendly. this is up from 10% four months ago. also means some 74% currently isn't iDevice friendly..

I would have to take that with a huge grain of salt considering the number of sites that are going iDevice friendly like Youtube, ABC, CBS, etc. Even NBC and other major websites include some iDevice friendly video.

I must live a sheltered life then because I don't think I've run into a video I wanted to watch but couldn't more than 5 times in 7 weeks including many movie trailers, HD content at Vimeo, videos linked off blog posts (most of those are Youtube,) etc.

My rough estimate is that I have been unable to watch a video 2% of the time. It's just not an issue for me but I guess we all have different habits... shrug.

I'm about the same..maybe even less. But, I've been using an iPhone for 3 years- my viewing habits may have been shaped by that a bit.

Well, it may be counting porn--which is no doubt a HUGE chunk of video watched online. The vast majority of porn sites with streaming video use Flash.

You must if you don't know how prevalent porn is on the internet!

Anyhow, just pointing out that could be a big chunk of the 74% if there methods include all internet video as most of the streaming video sites are Flash from what I've seen.

If it doesn't include porn sites, then the 74% number might be too small.
