How would you get your favorite ebook signed by the author?

If you would like to get your ebook signed by the author, would you have to have a reader with touch screen?

I've one book signed by an author. I brought a piece of paper, he signed that, and I then scanned it and added the picture to my book.

Sure, I can download Stephen King's signature and place that into my epub files. But that doesn't make it "special" does it?

I would say having the author to sign with a real pen onto the screen of the reader would make it special

I do have the original as well, and if you take it off the internet, you wouldn't have!

My company sells a digital signature solution which seals the "graphical" autograph with a digital certifigate with encrypted biometric data. It records speed, pen angle, rhythm, acceleration and aerial movements. Every signature is unique, and can be linked to a particular file and timestamp.
You can have a "signed edition" of your ebook.
You can even organize international signing events on the web...

When David Moody was ebook only he used to sign T-shirts. I also saw Bryan Talbot sign a woman's boobs once with a gold marker pen.

A pal of mine told me about an author who was doing a book signing brought a touch screen book reader with him. After a talk about his books he wrote an email address on the board behind him and told his audience to email him a book at that address along with a return address, from now until a week from now. Every book he recieved on his tablet was signed and returned to the address specified. When the readers recieved the book after the signing they had a digital version of signed book.
