Touch HD 3 not showing book cover

I have recently bought a Touch HD 3 for my wife. It appears to work fine but borrowing a book from the (Dutch) online library gives a problem; the reader refuses to show the book cover pictures.

They are DRM protected of course and have to be loaded onto the reader using Adobe Digital Editions since they come as *.acsm files. ADE loads the book and shows the cover picture correctly and has no problem copying them to the reader. But after disconnecting the reader and checking the books the reader is not able to show the cover picture. Neither on the start page nor in the library page. Opening a book however it does show the picture as the first page so it is not that the picture is not in the epub.

Has anybody come across this yet and found out whether this is a problem with ADE or the reader or the books epub format?
