The Alchemist's Code by Italian author Martin Rua is the 1st novel in his Parthenope Trilogy set of secret history conspiracy thrillers à la Da Vinci Code, this one involving a modern-day alchemist who discovers he has a secret code which unlocks some sort of world-changing artifact of the Knights Templar which sets him on the trail to recover it before the obligatory conspiracy group who are after it succeed in dooming the world, free courtesy of publisher Head of Zeus' Aria imprint, a digital-first line which picks up promising indies and foreign small press titles.

This is the English-language translation of Le nove chiavi dell'antiquario, which appears to have originally been a self-published title which was later picked up by Italian small press Newton Compton Editori, which, like Amazon's AmazonEncore imprint, seems to specialize in in acquiring best-selling indies for their stable and then arranging for foreign editions.
