Unhappy Unreadable screen

Hi,

I unpacked my DR1000S after a couple of years in storage. To my disappointment the screen is unreadable even though it appears to boot...

This is how it looks:

Do you think this may be recoverable somehow or is the reader doomed?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

I guess this will come a bit late, but...

My DR1000 screens start to look like yours when the battery capacity drops significantly. I would replace the battery and give your DR1000 two or three complete charge/discharge cycles.

Hope this helps,

In my case, the problem was indeed a faulty battery. I ordered a new one and the problem went away after charging it. You may give it a try...

I just bought one battery in local store and am waiting for delivery.
Based on the tutorial about changing battery, there will be some soldering work to do.

Figure cross.
