Also, wer sich die ganze Meldung durchliest, bekommt eine wunderschöne Weihnachtsgeschichte erzählt.

Da ist die mit dem Kind in der Krippe ein alter Hut dagegen (bin ja froh, dass Ställe seinerzeit ohne Stromversorgung waren, sonst würde das Christentum bis heute im chinesischen QA feststecken ... ein Schelm, wer dabei Schlimmes denkt).

Und der Hinweis auf B&N entbehrt nicht einer gewissen Peinlichkeit. Die haben den nook lange nach txtr angekündigt, es aber zumindest geschafft, vor Weihnachten wenigstens ein paar Geräte bereits an die Kunden auszuliefern.

Die Meldung liest sich auch durchweg so, als würde versucht werden, DAU das Fehlen ihres Weihnachtsgadgets zu erklären - und nicht den anvisierten ach so technikaffinen early adopters, bei denen man etwas mehr Grundwissen in diesem Bereich tatsächlich voraussetzen darf. Vielleicht nicht sehr viel mehr. Aber etwas mehr als "Also, Kinder, gebt fein acht ..." schon, liebe txtr-Crew.

So... habe mir nun auch mal die txtr Weihnachtsgeschichte zu Gemüte geführt. Nachdem ich so viele Monate auf den txtr reader gewartet habe interessiert mich noch immer, was es Neues zu dem Gerät gibt.

Aber mal ehrlich: Dieses Schreibwerk ist doch peinlich!

Wenn ich mir nicht letzte Woche schon ein Pocketbook gekauft hätte, hätten sie mich spätestens jetzt als Kunden verloren.

Und nachdem ich mittlerweile das tolle Pocketbook 360 kennen lernen durfte und sehe wie gut und praxisgerecht die offene Architektur bei Pocketbook ist (noch dazu mit dem erstklassigen Service durch Forkosigan hier in Deutschland!), wird txtr in Zukunft schon mit sehr sehr guten Argumenten aufwarten müssen, um mich als Kunden gewinnen zu können. Der txtr Zug ist für mich erstmal abgefahren...

Irgendwie fühle ich mich momentan beim txtr reader ganz unbestimmt an Bookeen und laaaaaaaaaaange angekündigte aber dennoch bisher nie offiziell erschienene Firmware-Updates erinnert.

Mir ist es lieber so, als wenn sie gar nichts sagen.

Ich wollte ursprünglich sogar zwei txtr Reader kaufen (fürs Protokoll: mit WLAN für 319,-). Einen für mich und den anderen wollte ich zu Weihnachten verschenken. Ja, ich gebe zu, das war naiv. Verschenken werde ich nun ein Mighty Mouse (in Elfenbein). Ich selbst warte weiterhin tapfer auf den txtr Reader. Mal sehen sehen, ob ich noch standhaft bleibe, wenn ich MM das erste Mal in der Hand gehalten habe...

Hihi, das schaffst Du nicht! MM ist so fein. Das Gewicht ist so angenehm leicht und die Bedienung so angenehm einfach. Dazu hält sich das Gehäuse mit der gerundeten Bedienungsseite so gut in der Hand.

...und er sollte vor allem gleich die zur MM angebotene optionale Ledertasche dazu kaufen. Die ist nämlich wirklich gut und funktionell.

Ich habe dazu mal einen kritischen Kommentar im Blog verfasst, in dem ich mal beschrieben habe, was Bearbeitungsschritte notwendig sind, wenn denn die Entscheidung gegen WLAN tatsächlich erst am 30.11. gefallen ist. Wenn das nämlich stimmt, dann war von vornherein klar, dass vor Weihnachten keine Reader zur Verfügung stehen (na ja vielleicht ein paar wirkungsvoll an die Presse verschickte Reader).
Aber mein Kommentar scheint wohl zensiert worden zu sein. Jedenfalls gibt es 'Jubelkommentare' die zeitlich deutlich nach meinem erfasst wurden (und sich für die tolle Transparenz bedanken...).
