Did you try the check I posted to see if your iLiad has reflash ability? You don't need a CF card in for that.

Many thanks for your help Adam & tribble

I will try a last solution... The problem is since 2 days, the screen didn't turn off...

Always the loading screen with beautiful white squares...
I'm demanding when if my iLiad will turn off...

To reboot, I have to click the reset bouton and hold the power switch...

I will try tonight to format the CF...

Wait my screen to turn off at last and try to switch on holding the connect button...

I will inform you asap

I waited the battery empty and try to reboot...

The same things occured...
I switch on holdind the connect button but nothing change...
The screen stay on loading page (the white squares ignite but at the last nothing occurs)

This is what I changed in start.sh :

Quote:
# start toolbar and wait till it runs
#/usr/bin/matchbox-panel --size 39 --no-menu --bgcolor White --no-session --default-apps mb-applet-icon-container &
/usr/bin/matchbox-panel --size 39 --bgcolor White --no-session --default-apps mb-applet-clock,mb-applet-icon-container &
app=mb-applet-icon-container
Is it always possible to reflash the iLiad himself ?

I'd like to avoid to send mine to Germany

hmm, you said, that the screen stys the same, no matter what?

This hints me to an empty battery. Have you tried pushing the reset button, hocking it up to the charger (check, that it is charging), wait five minutes and the start the iLiad?

Because you should at least see something happening. (green light blinking)

If not, i would assume its either your charger, or your battery.

And reflash only works with the latest Developer Package.

Yes, this morning I didn't manage to reboot because even if the iLiad was on the loading screen, I couldn't reboot, the battery was empty.

So I push the reset button, hocking it up to the charger and holding the connect button, the light was blinking (red and green)

I had the latest Developer Package

Let me get this straight. You performed the following steps.

1) Hook up the power so the light is red.
2) Press the reset button on the back.
3) Hold down the connect button
4) Press the power button while the connect button is still being held.

If you have the unbricking package, I don't believe you'll see any white bars until you let go of the connect button. Try holding the connect button for 10 seconds or so, if it starts to boot up normally, you don't have the reflash package.

I followed your steps it's also I did...
Even if I hold the connect button until the last white square appears
Nothing to do...

But what do you mean with "reflash package"...
I had the developer package but I don't see what the reflash package is...

Reflash and the newest release of the developer package are one in the same.

It doesn't appear that you've gotten the reflash ability... I'm not sure if there's anything further we can do.

I played chess, I used dillo and mdp...
I could take screenshots...
It's Thom himself which send my developer package...

There is one or two weeks...
I think reflash isn't possible all the time...

Modifying start.sh I managed to brick my iLiad...

Or...practice unbricking before you do.
