Calibre ePUB to LRF

In approximately 1/3 of the conversions of Sigil ePub to LRF, all headers and other items formatted as "CENTER" show up as left justified. The formatting is essentially identical in all files. At least from my checks.

Before i post an issue, I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong. I would appreciate a Calibre expert checking the files.

Attached are the ePub and the LRF output from Calibre.

Thanks

LRF output is no longer maintained, so you're on your own.

If you have a second machine or virtual machine you might want to try calibre 0.5.14 this version had the best conversion to lrf. After 0.6 epub prevailed and calibre was swapped over to a plugin system so all the 100s of hours of code on conversion to lrf that was built into 0.5.14 didn't make the transition to a plugin format. This version is not compatible with the current database in any way but should work well for stand alone conversions.

If you Google it you can still find it out there, it is about 25meg and a exe file.

Good Luck.

Thank you very much. I don't know why support for LRF would be dropped and yet continue to publish a tool which obviously flawed.

Is LRF supposed to be gone? Readers continue to download LRF books I post.
I think I have read that SONY now supports ePub.

I haven't found Calibre v. 0.5.14 but will continue to search and use it until I'm convinced LRF is now gone.

Sony discontinued LRF as their primary format some years back in favor of epub. LRF is only supported for backward compatibility purposes. Most likely the reason some users still download it is that on older readers like the PRS-505 LRF supports full justification and epub doesn't. Either that or the users just don't know any better.

Calibre's goal is conversion of books into a readable format. It isn't a ebook creation or ebook publishing tool.

Yes LRF is gone, Sony switched its store entirely to ePub over a year ago (Dec 09).

You can find a copy here in post 76. (Keep in mind that 0.5.2 thru 0.5.9 were beta for 0.6.0)

This version is 37 versions out of date. The newest version is 0.7.46, think of 0.7.9 as 0.7.09.

Update to the newest version and report back if you have the same error.
