Certainly, though in an eBook world, you just highlight it and Kindle will tell you.
Well, that make sense. Corporate was in Ottawa

My "borrows" only shows a fairly short list, and the Pottermore books aren't listed among them. But while I can view just Purchases, just Borrows, etc., the Search option seems to search everything. Sigh.

At least I have my epub backups.

In my list (Amazon UK), my HP books from Pottermore show as

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Book 1)
J.K. Rowling
Acquired on 27 March 2012

just like all my other purchased books. But these were definitely bought at Pottermore.

My Amazon digital content shows all my Harry Potter books just like your example except I bought mine on April 1st. I also remembered sending mine to BN and they’re all there in the Nook app on my IPad with a download button. We’re there other storage options offered?

I also seem to remember that the Harry Potter books were used to attract Amazon customers to subscribe to kindle unlimited when it started. Maybe it shows as borrowed on the product page for ku members since they are perpetually available to borrow.

Me third, same text about being acquired, etc. (At wildly varying acquisition dates, which is funny, given I too bought through Pottermore.)

I'd dl'ed the ePUBs--I already had, but better safe than sorry and all that stuff and they don't have DRM, so anyone can format them into pretty much whatever they want.

The ASIN for the Kindle Unlimited book is different than the HP book I purchased from Pottermore. Cover image is different as well. It makes sense that the Pottermore purchases would be accounted for separately.

And as a ‘one-off’, it is not surprising that the product page for these is a bit odd.

I bought them at Pottermore and linked them to my Kobo account. So I have them there, but I downloaded the ones directly from Pottermore as well to have newer versions. The ones in my Kobo library have the original covers and aren't connected to the currently sold editions.

If the books were updated and passed to Kobo as updates rather than new editions, Kobo doesn't automatically update the version you have. Part of this is to not cause issues with any annotations. If you know the book has been updated, you should be able to ask Kobo update it for you.

Yes, I've done that in the past with a book which had added a bonus short story in a later edition. But these I'll leave alone.

I'm reasonably well-read, but it wasn't until years after I read the series that I learned what a jumper really was. I assumed that wearing dresses was just another weird wizarding thing that they did, sort of like robes.

I remember, dog's years ago, trying to figure out what the hell a "jumper" was, as it appeared to be quite different than the jumpers we ourselves wore, here in the USA, as kids (a sort of girl's overall, with a skirt bottom rather than pants like work overalls). Man, this one is really dating me....anyway, I think the first time I went looking for that...I wasn't even a teen yet, I'm pretty sure, b/c the jumper thing confused me, due to context.

The one I found rather odd was the gymslip. More years that I care to remember back and took a while to find out what one was.

That's the problem with buying from Kobo. I cannot get the latest version. I want the latest version. But how do we know if there is a newer version to ask for it? I have requested too have the latest versions available. Obviosly this has fallen on deaf ears.

That's why I've been buying from eBooks.com as I can get the latest version.

I never read the HP books in Dutch, but my GF did; so I know most names in both Dutch and English. Personally I prefer the English names, except for one.

I always found "Little Whinging" a contrived name.

The Dutch name is "Klein-Zanikem".

- The Dutch word for "Whinging" / "pointless complaining" is "zaniken"
- We have some villages and towns that are called "Groot-***" or "Klein-***"

The translation was so perfect that I looked it up to see if a village called "Klein-Zanikem" actually exists in the Netherlands. (It doesn't.)

It's not implausible (although it doesn't actually exist). E.g., there's a place called "Little Snoring" near me.
