KINDLE DEAL: Billy Graham - The Journey: Living by Faith in an Uncertain World ($5)

The Journey: Living by Faith in an Uncertain World
Author(s): Billy Graham
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Price: $5.01

Chapter by chapter, Graham leads us on a journey in faith. We learn about God and his purpose for our lives; who Jesus is and what he has done for us. We learn to deal with challenges along the way: temptation; wrong thoughts and motives; habits that destroy our spirit, and what to do when life turns against us. And we are given practical advice on the Bible, prayer, knowing God’s will, making right decisions, finding fellowship, strengthening our marriages, being wise parents, and using our gifts to share Christ with others.

With insight that only comes from a life spent with God, The Journey is filled with wisdom, encouragement, hope, and inspriration for anyone who wants to live a happier, more fulfilling life.

And how is he making people who are gay and want to get married happier?

True happyness can only be found when we align ourselves with who God created us to be (as revealed in his Word, the Bible). Sin produces temporary pleasure only, not true joy.

If you believe in God, then you may believe that God made humans. God also made gay people and thus, it's not a sin against God. It's a sin against humanity to think gay people as lesser then others. It's also bigotry and that's a sin.

We're all born sinners, rebels against God. He never created humans this way. When He created the world there was no sin, death, disease or suffering (see Genesis 1 & 2). Because our first parents sinned, the world was cursed as God had promised. We now suffer, die and are slaves to various sins.

Some are born with gay lust, others with heterosexual lust, some are born liars and thieves, some are born violent, others hateful, others prideful. Sin takes on various forms, but being "born this way" isn't an excuse, it's the problem.

I have two links in my signature on what the Gospel is (our hope) and a Bible overview. If you're interested in learning more they will be helpful.

Ultimately though, we listen to what the Creator says about why us and the world is the way it is. That can't be known just by looking around. He has explained these things in His word, the Bible.

I was going to comment on the justice of being punished because of the "sins" of others, but first I would like to see this thread moved to the P&R forum.
