Got a message from Amazon on my Kindle...
I received this message (notice) on my Kindle earlier, not sure why though...

Nope, which is one of the reasons I couldn't understand why I got that message. I vaguely remembering installing some developer keys (adkkeys or summat)

just then i get the same message after registering the k3 again.The most importing things is that 3g is not available now!

Unregistering a kindle removes developer keys (both authorized and hacked developer keys). This is normal behavior. You just need to install them again to run unauthorized kindlets.
