i read today that B&N have trademarked "The Simple Touch Reader"

of course it could be unrelated to the announcement coming on the 24th....

This close to announcement date. There's no telling when any new device might ship.

I heard (here, I think) that PocketBook has Mirasol all sewed up. PocketBook is a good product, but lacks an efficient sales organization in North America. EBay is not good enough. I think B&N should shoot for lighter, cheaper, longer battery life eInk.

While I thought "nook" was a doable name, "The Simple Touch Reader" just doesn't do it for me.

Ah, ok, I can see that a slogan. I think my touch reader is pretty simple, too. Or maybe that's just the operator...

Well....the clock is ticking down to 10AM. I have to admit that my curiosity is piqued even though I seriously doubt it'll be anything earthshaking.

They got away with the "from out of nowhere" bit because no one pays attention to the small dogs. If it were Amazon, we would've been following rumors for months now.

Barnes & Noble is set to launch a touch-screen e-ink e-reader tomorrow that costs $139, matching the price of the Kindle WiFi, a reliable source has told CNET.

Wow. It's a great time to be an eBook/Reader fan right now. So many great devices and relatively inexpensive as well.

Bummer, I will be the "meeting presenter" all morning and my laptop will be hooked up to a conference room big screen. Do you think everyone in my meeting will mind following the live blog??
