PC crash after using Calibre?

Hi,
I hope this is the right place and I apologise if it isn’t. I was converting some books in Calibre, and I left my pc doing that, then the PC crashed and will no longer boot. I don’t know if it was Calibre that caused it so I wonder if any or else has had the issue, but also does anyone know the path Calibre uses or what it appears under as in between the rebooting we were looking for it to see if we could delete it and cannot find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

W10?
As much as I remember, Calibre was not running.

This morning, I sat down to use my PC and it would not wake up. I rebooted and it timed out, not finding the boot drive (SSD). I went to the BIOS and no drive found for SATA1 (the SSD). I changed a BIOS setting, saved, then changed it back:

I booted successfully.
I Then ran SFC /scan now (as 'Administrator') and it failed at 98% (security resource).
I wonder if a Defender update went sideways?
