Which stores ship to Canada?

I think I want to get the Sony PRS 350. Here's the catch...it retails for $200 in Canada but is on sale in the US for $130. What's up with that?? Oh, and our dollar is stronger now too so I don't even have to factor in exchange.

So I'm looking for a store that will ship to Canada. The Sony store won't. Amazon.com won't. I'm not familiar with other US sites that I can order on-line from.

If anyone can recommend some reputable sites to check out I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!

See this thread for the PRS-950, it might help you:
http://www.mobileread.mobi/forums/sh...d.php?t=105616

In addition, apparently usunlocked.com can act as an intermediary. Also, see http://www.compuplus.com/ which ships to Canada, but I found them expensive (as is the shipping, which is another factor).

Good luck!

I ordered from here last week it is currently on sale for $129...with taxes and shipping it came to $145. It appears the silver one is out of stock but the pink one is still available

Thank you for the links. The bhphotovideo site looks like it has the best deal. If I get the case with light to go with it I'll still be saving $60 and that's after shipping, taxes and brokerage fees. Great deal!

Too bad it's only in pink but I guess if I really hate it I can just get a skin to put over it. I might have to anyways to keep my 4 year old daughter from wanting to play with it!

Why don't you....

Why don't you talk nicely to someone that lives close to the U.S. that might pick one up for you if you have it shipped to a place near the border? Ship the reader and the cover separately (to keep the total price sane) and they can re-ship it to you inside of Canada. Whereabouts are you?

Hmmm, I don't really see how that would be cheaper. Then I'd be paying shipping to the place near the border, then paying for someone to get it and ship to me? Maybe I'm not understanding correctly.

The funny thing is I can look out my window and SEE the U.S. Problem is the cost of the ferry to get there far outweighs the savings I'd get.

Well...

Let's see...you're on Vancouver Island.
You pay for the Reader, (from a supplier that HAS a silver 350 since you don't want pink) you pay the initial shipping charges to WA state from the supplier, and another from Vancouver to V.I. (Canada Post or Greyhound)
Dollar at close to par, no duties, no taxes; unless you are charged taxes by the store you purchase it from.
You know of a way to get it any less expensive than that? Wow. Go for it.
Maybe I don't get it?

sonystyle.com does not ship to canada and the prs 350 is 199 at sonystyle.ca

I ordered my PRS 650 from BH last fall and they were pretty awesome to deal with, prices were reasonable, I would recommend them.
You will have to pay duty fees, it will probably be 20-30 bucks.

Did you have to pay duty on delivery or only what BH charged you at checkout? Their site says that we don't have to pay any additional taxes, duty etc on delivery since they have already collected it.

If that's not true I'll have second thoughts about ordering from them.

I was not charged anything extra. I only paid what BH charged me at checkout.

Good to know. Thank you. I think I'll just go ahead and order from them.

Yay, I'm so excited to have finally made a decision about this!

Well, it's clear you couldn't be bothered to read the thread. I guess I'll have to spell it out for 2Dukes. OTOH,....I can't be bothered. Offer retracted.

Wordeater - Thanks for the offer but it really seemed like a lot more hassle than was necessary. I saved $60 so I'm happy and will have my new e-reader in a week.

Thanks everyone for your help.
