This is very bizzare. I have few devices left untouched for a few years and they are still usable. Does this reader contain very old technology of battery - NiCd? Those were know to degrade over time weather used or not. The industry of mobile things moved to NiMH or others a few years ago.

It has a lithium battery, as all eInk devices do.

Seriously, though, leave any lithium battery for three years, and its charge level is almost certainly going to fall below the level at which it can revived through USB charging.

He he ..it started in the end, I noticed that today.
Not sure if it was because of repeated cycles or charge discharge or just because I connected a more powerful charger ... I guess it is the first but it started
After reading the above I stacked my BOOX readers one above the other and on top I had my Nook and I kept charging them from time to time, all of them because I did not know which one had problems without opening the case (lazy guy here :-) )
So in the end the miracle happened, the dead one is resurrected and now alive and kicking :-) BTW, one of them is for sale
