I have seen many p constructs like that pass FC. Look before it for some flaw that may be mis-reported.
or there is a non-printing character in the text

I'd wait for the next release - looks like one of the PCRE issues (Sigil looking for the   and it not being found - as happens if you search for them by hand atm), so it's likely resolved if that is the case

I just deleted the code and typed it back in in case there was some non-displaying character in the way. FC popped up the same error.

What about "para-flush" in the css?

I just inserted

Code:

<p class="calibre1">&nbsp;</p> (as a test for you)

into a passing EPUB.
It still passed afterwards

Do you have a DOCTYPE in your document? I believe entities need a doctype to work...
