Interview with the Vampire Is Coming Soon
Other Anne Rice fans might like to know that Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Tale of the Body Thief, The Witching Hour, and several other classic Anne Rice eBooks were announced at Amazon for pre-order to be delivered wirelessly November 17, 2010.
When on vacation to San Francisco once, for some reason the Witching Hour seemed right to read in its home locale but it took me awhile to find a copy. Of course, I made the mistake of starting my search at City Lights Bookstore. (From the reaction when I asked if they had a copy you'd have thought I was trying to buy child porn.) I'm unloading all my old pbooks but there are a few I like to keep at hand and these are four of them. If you haven't read Interview, the book is a lot better than the movie. |

Apart from the original Bram Stoker, Anne Rice's books are the only Vampire novels I've read - and like you guys I thought the first 4 were brilliant; Interview was, and is, still my favorite of them all. I thought the movie was dreadful.

I'm not a big fan of Rice's vampire books but I do like the Mayfair Witch trilogy. Also The Mummy was good - wish she had continued with that theme.

For an alternative vampire book, Fred Saberhagen's _The Dracula Tape_ is very good (and it's an on-going series)

The first vampire books were awesome. I lost interest afterwards. But I'd like to see a reboot of Interview with the Vampire made into a movie and the series done properly this time. It would be important in order to forget the God-awful mess that Queen of the Damned turned out to be.

However, I'm a huge fan of the book and very happy to finally have it on my Kindle. It's one of my favorite books, but I cannot find my copy in the piles of paperbacks I've got stashed everywhere. |
