Two-page view: how to set a "cover page"?
When viewing PDF files in two-page view, some of them have a separate cover page which displays on its own. I believe this is set in Adobe Acrobat before exporting.
I don't have Acrobat and dealing with their infamously difficult-to-get-rid-of subscription just to fix a handful of scanned booklets seems a little overkill. Are there any free tools for Windows that would allow me to set a cover page on PDFs that don't have one? |

Ghostscript/Ghostview?
It's a few years. Also I used to have a "PDF" printer on Windows XP to make a new PDF by printing any number of documents (or parts of documents) from any number of applications. Then when done, you went to the printer driver to create the file. So many years ago! |

If you are talking about the missing covers (instead of just adjusting the cover page for a single page view in a facing (double page) view), you should then use some free pdf editor or pdf reader/tool with a page-merge or page-add capability.

" If you just want to automatically (by default) show the cover as a separate page in a double page (facing) view, it should be possible to accomplish with quite a few free pdf editors/tools, but we can also choose either to see a separate cover (in a facing view) or together with an adjacent page in almost any pdf reader as well.
