Viewer & large files
Is there a file size limit to what the Viewer (Calibre-parallel) can hold open, or does it have a restriction when opening MOBI dictionary files? I purchased a Japanese-English dictionary from Amazon and it creates some kind of flow problem that hangs the application when I try to open it.

I tried to view "The New Oxford American Dictionary", a 28-MB MOBI file. It eventually timed-out with errors. One of the errors was a memory error.
Possibly Viewer will work with large files if PC has enough RAM. I have several EPUB's in the 13-MB range that work fine. Don't have any bigger EPUB's to test. So ... problem could be some combination of file size, MOBI format, dictionary format or RAM!! Marty PS: Neat signature! |

The Calibre viewer is really only an ePub viewer. Any other format is first internally converted to ePub, so that conversion can be the limiting factor.
