Thumbs up Free (DRM-free) Panglor by Jeffrey A. Carver [Sci-Fi Space Pilot Mission Adventure]

Panglor by Nebula Award-nominated fellow MR member author Jeffrey A. Carver (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is a prequel to his Star Rigger series of science fiction space opera adventures (the one which netted him the Nebula nom), this installment starring the eponymous space pilot who's forced to go on a mission that could go very, very wrong (or terribly right, depending), free courtesy of the author himself, who is e-printing it from its 1980 Dell paperback.

Currently free for a limited time @ Smashwords (DRM-free choice of formats available worldwide), and thence currently price-matched @ B&N (also UK), Amazon UK (likely to drop in the main store and assorted regional ones, especially if you start doing Report A Lower Price), and iTunes. Price-drop-check linkage for Kobo & Google Play, where this will probably get matched eventually.

Also, in case you missed it at any point over the past few years, a reminder that the 1st novel in his Chaos Chronicles series is still generously offered as a regular introductory freebie: Neptune's Crossing @ Smashwords and thence price-matched pretty much everywhere by now, as is a short story (also in the Star Rigger setting): Though All the Mountains Lie Between.

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

Because practically vintage space adventure by a fellow MR member author in an award-nominated series is always cause to

Enjoy!

Description
Blackmailed!

Wrongly discredited as a space pilot, Panglor Balef is doomed to die in space, if sheer luck doesn’t bring him through. But luck has never been in Panglor’s cards. Bad enough to be coerced into a mission of murder and suicide, he must also contend with Alo—a young woman, stowaway, and impossible companion. Neither of them, nor his empathic ou-ralot, could possibly anticipate the journey through space-time they are about to embark on, through a door to an insane reality from which there is almost certainly no return. It could be the discovery of the millennium, but the only way home is to journey even further into the heart of madness.

The stunning prequel to the famed Star Rigger Universe of Jeffrey A. Carver, Nebula-nominated author of Eternity’s End and The Chaos Chronicles.
