Well it won't if you trash the built in Photos app. Is that is even possible on an IOS device, the fruit company isn't renowned for making it easy to disable their built-in bloat.

I'm no Apple fan, but wouldn't you say that's also true of Google/Android? I'd love to remove some of the crap that comes standard with Android (e.g., Google+).

I noticed that BR said disable not remove. IIRC you can disable most all Google apps such as Google+ by sliding the icon to the App Info area and choosing Disable.

You are correct in the concept that removing the Google apps is often not possible. I have no idea what the Apple world is like.

I knew all of that, but your earlier suggestion to install the Photo Investigator app was very helpful. In addition to Apple's built-in editing tools, I have 15 other photo editing apps on my iPad; none of which tell me what size photo I'm dealing with. At least with the addition of Photo Investigator, I finally have a way of determining the size of graphics on my iPad's hard drive, and for that I am in your debt. It's been a pain in my tush ever since my first iPad.

I've learned something here (didn't know you could put those thumbnails everwhere in your post), but that doesn't answer the question why an image added years ago, in a post that was abandoned years ago too, was recently removed...

We should have an answer. It seems a lot OCD to remove the image. The OP has not been back years and isn't likely to be back and even so, I cannot see that image put back. All this does is ruin the thread. I think a backup of the forum needs to be restored, the image found and put back. Unless there's a way to get the image back easier.

I took a look at the edited image and it's the same as the one in the thumbnail. I realize you couldn't have known that, but as it happens, no information pertinent or necessary to understanding the thread has been removed.

Can it be said that no oversized images will be removed if they've been there for more than a month and if a staffer's OCD is forcing the image removed that it be made an clickable icon or an attachment?

Perhaps because someone clicked the '!' and asked that it be removed because it was oversized.

Or perhaps because someone posted spam into the thread that a mod/editor removed and whilst they were there they spotted the XL image and decided to get rid of it too.

OT and IMO, it would be good to auto-close threads that haven't had a new post for... let's say six months
