uh-huh.... fascinating.... sounds like there is a SNAFU in nookieland.
and it is even more fascinating that alll of a sudden according to that article the Kindle has lost its whisper net ability; The Nook has a few advantages over Amazon's Kindle e-reader, such as a microSD slot, WiFi to supplement 3G connectivity and a secondary smaller multi-touch color display used for control and navigation. On the down side, the Nook has a shorter battery life than the Kindle (10 days vs. 14 days). |

I think that just says it has wi-fi in addition to 3G which they both have. |

did you read the article? the inference is that it is something the nook has and the Kindle does not

there is an article in News and Commentary by some creting going on about ereaders not being great gifts... a very interesting comment at the original source makes one wonder;
As for the Nook, we don't know yet that it's better than the Kindle. Nobody has one. And by the way, B&N and their Nook is being sued for stealing their e-book design from Spring Design (Alex e-reader). Who knows where that will go, but Spring Design has shown that they definitely have a good case. could this be part of the hold up? |

Why don't they at least send out a demo unit to the stores? I'd sure like to try one and see some real reviews. Could there have been some sort of production or software glitch that's responsible for all the delays?

Yep. I'm an innocent bystander as well, but am very interested in hearing what the members here think of it/them. |

Despite the press jumping on this today, the official nook FAQ (on the bn.com site) has stated Dec. 7th for in store demo units for at least a week, if not longer...
