composite custom columns sorted numerically

Is it possible for a composite custom column to be sorted numerically and not alphabetically? I added one for {id} but it goes 1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,21 etc... since it's being treated as a string and not a number.

Try using leading zeros. Examples: 01, 02, 03, etc. or 001, 002, 003, etc.
