Oh wow! Look at all these languages! :wants to speak them all:
But how do we go about installing them? I'm eager to find out how they sound. Should I go poke around the PocketBook site and see if there are any instructions?? |

Nice job!
I'd say this should be a sticky thread. Citac, the attached manual should contain the instructions to embed the TTS. |

OK, I'm going to need help with this. The instructions say:
Installing the voice package Here are the steps to install the new voice package:
I tried to follow the instructions, but could not access the root of the device. When I connect the IQ, I can only access the internal and external cards, not the root. I went back to the pdf file and saw that the hardware listed included only PB602, PB603, PB902, PB903, not PB701. So does this mean that TTS won't work for the IQ? I am very disappointed by this. I'd appreciate instructions on how to install TTS on the IQ, and if it's not yet possible, when can it be expected? |

In android, when "the memory card" is meant, they mean the external one. if I were you, I'd try and install it in the root of the internal SDCard. It's the logical thing to do since you're not supposed to be able to access the actual root directory (you only get that access by... well, rooting the device ).

I did that, but when I try to open the file through the library, it doesn't even see it, so I'm confused. I'll try again.

No luck, the library simply doesn't see the file, and if I try to start it from the file manager, it shows the message "Application not available". I was really looking forward to checking out TTS. Either I'm doing something wrong, or the library for the IQ is not set up for TTS.

If I remember correctly, they said we will be able to use DRMed epubs and TTS function on our IQs by the end of this year. This means we should be able to use these TTS files within a week. I hope they keep their promise.

I don't know if anyone can confirm this, but Configuration>Maintenance>Remove Packages does not work for me
I have the latest Firmware installed 2.03 on the 902. Any way to get rid of one or two tts packages another way? Merry Christmas Wilco |

I cannot install any new TTS to my PB 602 (fw 2.0.2, Czech localization). I removed 2 existing TTS languages successfully so I should not have a problem with 4 TTS limit.
I load Czech.pbi file (but the same issue is with any other) to the root folder of internal memory, I launch it via Library/Application, I get a message (in Czech language) that the size of package is big and the the instalation can take longer time. Then after about 20 sec I get a message "Could not create temporary file in /tmp" and nothing is installed. This does not depend whether exrernal card is present or not, or if PB is connected to PC or not. I suppose that by '/tmp' it means a temp directory on internal (not visible) drive with Linux OS. Any idea what could be the issue ? Thx |

Removal doesn't work for me either. I can check the package to be removed, but there is no promt for removal that could be confirmed...
