Well E ink came up with ACep technology last year which is said to have 32.000 colors and its production is supposed to start next year as well.
Then we have Liquavista with millions of colors but it will take many years until its launching. I believe It'd be cool if you were able to watch videos and movies on it but from wha I understand Clearink only plans to make E reader devices, not phones etc |

I got a different impression watching the video. The video says their investor(s) want video, so that is what they will be delivering first. I don't equate video with e-readers.

Sounds a lot like the compaq ipaq from the year 2000 with reflective screen and 4000 colors. If you turned the backlight off, it still worked well with any residual light around you.

Actually the 4096 colors was plenty and the screen looked great. It was a really good trade off (less colors but reflective to see in sunlight and less backlight to save battery). Videos looked very good on it, too. It was year 2000 technology.
