I have problem with openning EPUB with new lbook firmware.
anyone? EDIT: I found reason by disassemble the BEBOOK, LBOOK, HANLIN, EZReader and the Beta Hanlin for my Native Language. EPUB Lib is for all FW except LBOOK FW. Now, I have my own Firmware with, All Features mix, HANLIN with Coolreader. Last edited by keng2000; 05-06-2009 at 01:27 PM. |

I tried ...20090409-2.rar and looks good, except that the text input for the search function didn't seem to work as expected, at least not on BeBook. (reverted back to previous firmware now) The problem is that some keys like 2 work OK while others like 3 or 4 always output the same letter no matter how many times you press them.

What about comparison with latest unstable OpenInkpot?
Currently I have above one. |

20090409-2 is great so far: no more crashes (back to bookshelf) while reading books after a few pages!
All hail the Ukranian LBook programmers! To use the dictionary (.dz and .index files drom a debian dict package) I do a long press (2 seconds) of the 3 key (since with a short press the keyboard is then buggy, as noticed by the forumer named oddity above). It would be perfect if in german the letters with an accent were recognized as normal letters while choosing the word to search in the dictionary. *** EDIT *** Well, I thought my problem was solved but I was just reading a book on the SD-card and suddenly sent back the the bookshelf of the built-in storage! Which never happens with OpenInkpot. ***2nd EDIT *** It seems that when the battery is full there are less crashes. And this new LBook firmware must draw less current, but not as little as OpenInkpot. So I definitely must buy a high-quality original Nokia battery...or wait for the next LBook firmware. The dictionary feature is great!
Two possibilities: - a short press of key number 3 gives you a virtual keyboard. For example to get letter B, press key 1 then key 2 (you can take your time, the time between two keys pressed does not matter; to be sure you pressed each key, just look at the light: it turns on briefly each time). To delete one letter press the "previous" key (the arrow to the left of the OK button). It works perfectly, and with a little practice you can type quickly. But only two keyboards (english and russian, between which you can switch by pressing "previous page" and "next page" (those to the left of the screen) - a long press of key number 3 gives you a T9 keyboard Last edited by Lbooker; 06-11-2009 at 08:55 AM. |

after hacking Firmware, any language can be added. like my Thai language, also you can use more key matrixes, (0-9) I got the problem with T9 usage only (on original Firmware too) |

Can you tell me how to do it, or give me a link to a page on internet explaining this? |

Looks like this firmware has the most active release schedule of all Hanlin devices.
I'm still waiting for the next BeBook (since Feb) and it was supposed to be out by May. I'll give this one a try. |

The most impressive being all the improvements they are working on right now, from what I gathered from the Russian forum translated by Google.
There is an intermediate unofficial release from May but I did not understand what it changes: http://www.savefile.com/files/2124662 Probably a couple of minor bugs. |

A newer one which corrects some minor bugs and typos:
http://files.mail.ru/I3IP43 Now the + and - buttons on the right side have the usual effect on font size. Unfortunately the Lbook firmwares are not as stable as the OpenInkpot ones. Last edited by Lbooker; 06-16-2009 at 10:44 AM. |

I grasped some of the explanation from Google's translation, but not all of it! Anyway, this firmware is not anymore stable. I know only two ways to get stability: OpenInkpot or removing the SD-card. Do people from Ukraine and Russia know the exact hardware problems of the Hanlin V3? Can it be repaired to be made stable? Did Hanlin modify the V3 over time to make it stable, or they do not care? Is Hanlin a serious company or a bunch of incompetent people? |

New version available:
http://files.mail.ru/IS1W7L (unfortunately, I cannot download from this cite). Many problems from previous unofficial firmware should be fixed. |
