Metadata lost with opds download

Hello
I am running a calibre server and downloading the comics through opds compatible app on an ipad.
But when a get the comics he has lost all the matadata that where present on te server.
Is there a way to put the metadata directly in the cbz file on calibre server?

calibre doesnt write metadata to cbz as there is no real standard for it. there is one underspecified one based on storing metadata in the zip file comment but that is not really suitable as the comment is limited in size and only some applications support it anyway.

It is not the file name so where did he get this title name?

Presumably from the opds feed, which does include all metadata, you will have to ask the creator of the opds feed why it is not reading the rest of the metadata from the feed.

Ok maybe the creator of the opds does not creat a perfect interface ;-)
But what I mean is the OPDS gives to the ipad app something that come from caliber?
Were is wrriten this field ? in the Calibre database? in the cbz file or in the opf files ?

the opds feed contains the book metadata if you want to see what it is open the opds url in a browser

I thought I had found what give the name
the jpg files were store in a directory (in the cbz file) the app seems to get the directory name
So a litle script to remove directory in cbz do the job

But the app still had the wrong title!
I don't know were this "wrong title" still ther. It is not in the cbz, nor in the metadata file....

It seem's you don't like opds?
What other way to connect to calibre from a reader do you suggest ?

You may want to check out this plugin:

It can read cbz/cbr files and import the metadata (if it's in the zipfile comment or the comicinfo.xml) into the calibre library, and it an also embed the metadata from the calibre library into the cbz/cbr files.
