Can we move iPad threads?
I am sorry, but the news and discussion of a device nobody knew existed for about 2 month, device that was about to be unveiled 1 week and now slew of posts about device that nobody touched or will be able to touch for 2 month at least, what now another 2 month of speculations?
Can we please give it it's own forum? I spend an hour watching presentation, comparing specs on other slates (as unavailable as this one) and formed my opinion, now I want to move on and see other news about other devices, which unfortunately go down the list too quick. This is like OJ frenzy all over again, for basically not so complicated a question. |

While not as negative about it all as you, I do agree. There is a forum for the iPhone and such, so it stands to reason there needs to be a dedicated iPad forum here.
So +1 |

I also agree with moving the threads. Trying to find non-iPad threads are a pain and it seems to me that many of the threads are basically saying the same thing.

Does seem to belong in a forum with the iPhone, in terms of e-reading which is what we're all aboout here.

Perhaps not with the iPhone. They are very different devices, with very different purposes.
The iPad is clearly promoted as a proper e-reader, by both Apple and many publishers, while the iPhone is not. |

Still say we need a subforum for tablets since there are so many coming out.
Will keep discussion isolated from the "if it glows, it blows" people trolling tablet threads with the same crap. And hopefully keep tablet fans from posting stuff hear about how they think tablets will kill e-ink and riling people up. |

Why not just the "other devices" for now (below the iPhone) until it actually comes out, and we find out how much of an "other device" it is?

I would add another vote for this. The news page has become a chore with over 50% of the threads about the iPad at times.

Please, common sense here, the iPad isn't any more of a dedicated reader than the plethora of netbooks and upmc's already available. Are you going to give all of them their own forums too? Stick it under 'Other Devices', if you have to move the threads. Because that's what it is; an other. Unless there's a dedicated humour forum somewhere on here, it might fit there also, considering the amount of jokes it engenders. |
