Duokan 2012?

Has anyone here tried Duokan 2012?. it supports KT now, starting from version 4.2 (CMIIW). I would really like to try, but I cant find any line that mention it has English release.

PS: June 1st, they had version 4.3

I translated a bit of the installation manual. It worked fine on my kindle touch - the 2012-06-01 version.

Directions:
This booklet is only applicable for the installation of 多看 to the Kindle Touch.
This will not work for K3 or K4. For information on upgrading, please read the FAQ. ( 升级说明请看附录 FAQ) If you have any questions, please go to the forum for advice.

WARNING: Please only install 多看 alongside the original Kindle OS.
多看 installation does NOT require a jail break or Chinesization.
Alternatively, a jailbreak or Chinesization may
modify the original Kindle OS files, causing the failure of the 多看 installation.
Therefore, if you have ever modified the original system as just discussed, it is highly recommended that you revert your kindle to its original form.




Installation in a few steps:
1.Copy the installation files, remove the USB line, and then restart Kindle Touch.
2.Debug Mode ( 调试模式点击三下) (abbr. DDQ), 多看 will automatically install.


A full explanation of installation with picutres:

1.Copy the installation files and restart Kindle Touch.
1.Plug your Kindle Touch to the your computer with a USB cable. Copy all installation files to the Kindle hard drive; once this is complete, remove the USB cable.
Copy the following files (please see the pictures below):
folders: DK_System, diagnostic_logs
files: ENABLE_DIAGS , data.tar.gz




1.2Restart Kindle Touch

If you don't know how to restart your Kindle Touch, please see the pictures, look for the restart menu, and do the following:
1.Go HOME. By pressing the main and only button on the front surface of the kindle, you can return to the home page.
2.Touch the “Menu” button
3.Click on the “settings” option in the menu window.
4.Touch the “Menu” button again.
5.Push “Restart”

2.Debuggin Mode 点击三下 Menu, install 多看

2.1 press D) Exit, Reboot or Disable Diags (figures 5 and 6)
2.2press D) Disable Diagnostics (figure 7)
2.3press Q) to continue (figure 8)

Touch will automatically enter into the installation GUI; please allow about 3-5 minutes for the installation to complete.
During the course of the installation, you do not need to do anything. See the installation GUI, figures 9-11.
Once installation is complete the Kindle Touch will automatically reboot into the 多看 OS.

appendix: FAQ (Frequently Asked Question)

Q1. What is the procedure for manually updating 多看?
After installing 多看, the steps for manually updating 多看 are as follows:
(1)Download the latest package and uncompress DK_System
(2)Attach the Kindle Touch to your computer with your USB line, and overwrite the old DK_System folder
(3)Remove the USB cable
(4)Restart the 多看 OS; 多看 will automatically update the system. This will take about 3 minutes.

Q2. Where is the screen saver located?
多看 will randomly rotate through the pictures in the directory:
DK_System\xKindle\res\ScreenSaver

Q3. What if the installer stops in the middle of installation?

Kindle 开机大树画面为正常启动的刷屏图像,启动完成后,
将自动切换到程序。丌会一直卡在大树画面。

丌再变化。 没有进入到多看烟花界面, 并且插上 USB
线能识 别 Kindle 磁盘。

Resolve as follows: Hold the off key for a long time (about 10 seconds), and wait for 多看 to start.

Q5. 快速按电源键无法切换和退出屏保 ?
Kindle 的电源按钮的屏保功能响应速度为 2 秒。因此,连续
快速按电源键切换和退出屏保,系统会自动忽略按键消息。
需要等待 3 秒以后,再次按键才会有响应。
Kindle 有自我诊断功能,如果连续短按电源键多次,系统会
启动系统诊断程序,并重启。

where can I download Duokan ?

Go to translate.google.com, type www.duokan.com, select translation chinese to english, click translate. Click link on right hand box of translate, then click on left image button under kindle, then scroll down to kindle touch version, click on any link then download.
