Content same azw3 looks different on K3 and PW3

Hi!

I bought an epub which had to be linkified (it's a gamebook) and I found the easiest way to do it is to convert it to HTML.

Now, the problem is that when I created the azw3 in Calibre it's OK and perfect, I can see the preview of the book also in Kindle Previewer 3 perfectly but when I copied it to PW3 some of the images are stretched to the whole screen, though these images look perfectly on K3.

What's wrong? The same files with different rendering?! How?

Different screen resolutions.

Can you post the code for the images along with the CSS? It could be that the code needs tweaking.

Assuming you know how to edit an epub, you could excerpt a snippet around one picture and then lorem ipsum the text.

One other thing is that the K3 has older firmware than the PW3 so the PW3 could have a newer KF8 renderer.

I think the reason must surely be that KF8 rendering is different on Kindle 3 than on the much newer PW3. The former rendering engine has not been updated for years, so the latter would have benefit of bug fixes and other improvements.

You might be able to tweak things with media queries which would check resolution of screen and use different CSS for each. But I’m far from an expert on that. Probably a question better asked on ‘Kindle formats’ forum here.

But anyway... if it's about a simple webpage in HTML, you don't have to define the dimensions of your screen or your monitor. So how is azw3 different?
One thing came to my mind about this: Some of the books on Kindle store are optimized for larger screens like DX has.. Is this a similar situation?

Hi. The PW and K3 are worlds apart. You would have to optimize for each.
The screens are different, the resolution is different.
