Washington Post so so slow

Beginning Oct 25, the fetching for Wash Post went into extreme slowdown. I wasn't able to allow it to play out until today. Compared to usual ~1 min fetch time, it spent 2hrs 12 min. The book itself appears to be perfectly fine.

Other news, e.g., NY Times, downloaded in a minute as usual.

Thanks for any insight.

I've noticed the same problem. However, if you open one of the feeds in a browser and click on an article, it seems to load quickly.

I took a quick look at it, and as far as I cant tell this is simply the servers being flaky, some requests are taking very long to complete, some are completing quickly. I've adjusted the recipe to reduce the size of the downloaded images, but other than that, I dont see what else I can do.

How can I tweak the WP recipe so that I can GET visible images? Right now, they are all blurry except for the contributor's pix.

Sooo... since the images were upgraded, small icons from the website have become seriously oversized in the news feed. Is this adjustable or is this an either-or situation?
