Kindle 8 coding

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I'd like to contact here or elsewhere others interested in discussion of the expanded features of Kindle 8?

The Amazon site forums are not very helpful, at least not to me.

Specifically, I've an ebook I'm building with several hundred photographic images. Because of the limitations of the previous Kindle mobi format I couldn't have text flow along side an image, either from the right or left side and have had to settle for the relevant text above or below a given image.

Does anyone have any experience with "float" and the new Kindle format (CSS3)?

Thanks.

Your best thing to do is to create it as an ePub, and then convert it with the new tools.

As HarryT says, if text flows along side an image in an ePub then it should in KF8. Note that the Kindle Previewer (get it from the Kindle Format 8 page) includes KindleGen, so all you need to do is import an ePub into the Previewer to get a KF8 mobi.

There is a fixed layout option in KF8, but this is different from everyone else's fixed layout approach (Fixed Layout in KF8 for Amazon Kindle is Disappointing). In any case, with fixed layout you would need a widescreen version (Kindle Fire) and a 4:3 version (iPad, Kindle Touch).
