This plugin has worked very well except for on my Kobi. The cover images are very small. This thread has some pics of what it looks like.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=280603 One of the posts there mention the problem is the lack of a percentage setting in the cover html. In epubmerge.py I changed <img src="cover.'''+coverext+'''" alt="cover"/> To <img src="cover.'''+coverext+'''" style="height:100%;max-width:100%;" alt="cover"/> and it has been working much better for me. |

New Test Version
Here's a new test version prompted by a) an issue somebody reported with EpubSplit about internal paths containing 'asdf/../' structures and b) updated translations. I do not believe the changes will make any difference to processing files without weird file paths, but I'd like to hear from some test users either way. Thanks. @JimmXinu
REQUEST: Is it possible to create an option in your plug-in that serves strictly as METADATA MERGE. This would completely ignore the book formats but create an entry as described...OR, a user can create an entry (with or without a book) and then make it part of a group to merge. I've tried it with yours, but if there is any kind of fault and some books won't work, the entire process is stopped. I won't go into all the reasons for wanting this and the many approaches I've tried. I'll spare you that. But it SEEMS this plug-in with an addition option OR another as described based off this one would do it. I'd play with it if I had the ability, but I cannot. From a user perspective, this would be a very simplified way to accomplish the metadata merge that isn't affected by book formats and doesn't require multiple steps to do. I have edited to clarify....the goal on this is options to merge (concatenate) the tag fields, authors type fields, comment style fields , any fields like these as compared to titles and publishers, etc... Thoughts? Last edited by jecilop; 07-06-2018 at 07:48 PM. Reason: Clarifications on field styles. |

This plugin is specifically for creating merges of EPUBs. Creating a merged library book record is secondary--just some place for the new EPUB to go.
I suppose that skipping the actual merge step wouldn't be hugely difficult, but you'd end up with a library book record with no formats at all. Calibre already has various options available for merging records, have you explored them already? I just don't see the point... |

Having a book without actual formats is ok. I use such entries for many things. This is a library management need. As I said, I'll spare you all the details and why's. I was just hoping there would be a way to do this easily. I tried it with books, but there was an error. I could take many steps and do each in small intervals, but this would cut out the need for all of that and be efficient. Just consider |

Looking at it in detail, it's not as simple as just skipping the merge step because of the code that checks for and gathers the EPUBs.
I'm not very inclined to go to the effort of making, testing and supporting a feature to disable the plugin's core functionality for no better reason than "one person asked for it without explaining why". What about adding empty EPUBs to your book records? Calibre can do that under Add books > Add empty file to selected books records > Add empty EPUB |

@JimmXinu,
No worries. Thanks for thinking about it. It's not the empty book issue as a whole. I'll just take the many steps needed for my goal. Thanks again for this app. It has been great! |

Trying to get EpubMerge to drop internal title pages.
Hi there,
I have a number of files that have the form 2565-00.epub -> 2565-94.epub. What I am trying to do is merge these files as a book not an anthology. I cannot find a way to stop a front page being inserted when the new file is merged. I will modifiy the first book's metadata to have the title of the book and I was allowed to modify the author for all files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

EpubMerge only merges entire epubs. If there are front pages in the source epubs, it will include them.
And EpubMerge does not add a front page for each source book. It does, however, add a TOC entry for each merged book, depending on the plugin settings. |

JimmXinu already explained the "front page" issue. It may take a little work but using the editor you should be able to remove these pages easily. |

Disable nested TOC?
Would it be possible to have an option to disable including the original books' TOC as nested entries under the new TOC, and just to have top level entries, one per book?
Some readers (Kobo for example) don't handle nested TOCs well, and just show the entire structure as one long list, which can make it very awkward to jump to specific books. I've tried the current -n and -f flags, but they don't do what I'm looking for. I'm sort of looking for the opposite of -n, say --only-titles-in-toc. |
