Calibre conversion - undetectable error
Hello!
a problem with a long history, here is it: Since a long time across multiple calibre versions, I can't convert an ebook to mobipocket - exiting always by the same error : "Error in xpath expression". I thought I might be lucky because when showing the details I could see an xpath expression. I changed the path to "//*" but that didn't help. Later, I tried the debug option, but the output directory stayed empty except for a text file instructing me about the stages of the conversion process. Calibre Version: 3.20.0 Win 10 x64 Thank you very much for any help! Link to the complete Conversion Output: https://pastebin.com/4j1Ptv3g Last edited by yJan1986; 03-27-2018 at 03:17 PM. |

That's a weird error, I dont see how it is possible, since the XPath referenced in the error is '//h:a[@href]|//h:i|//h:b|//h:u' which is valid and used in all calibre conversions.

And the error remains after a Reinstallation - I will try next
to circumvent the problem using my old laptop which runs live-usb ubuntu and try to reproduce the steps. BTW: My new computer raised the error after 1:47 conversion time ( 4 GHz ) and my old laptop still runs after 20 Minutes ( 2,4 Ghz ) which is a good sign. After ~1h40m the laptop triggers the same result: xpath error. Then, I guess after calibre remains a black box, the question is: What can I do to get a working, convertible .htmlz of the book? What is the range for the use of xpath expressions, or can you single out the function in the sourcecode?

The source is not going to help you, because as I said the XPath is valid, but feel free to check for yourself, the source file and line are mentioned in line 141 of your pastebin.

Ok, I just recieved an extremely polite mail from the german pocketbook support. They verified the problem with the epub bible and converted it to fb2 AND handed it over to me.
AND they cared for my other problems too. Very cool dudes indeed Last edited by yJan1986; 03-28-2018 at 04:16 PM. |
