Saw someone on the T reading Soul Music
I saw someone on the T (public transportation) reading a paperback copy of Soul Music by Terry Pratchett (#16 in the Discworld series).

Good thing they weren't using an ebook reader, you'd never have known!

Could somebody explain the significance? Is this novel new? Or does it mention subways or ebooks or something?

Is that a news or commentary?
I am a little confused. |

I want to know why "What people are reading on the T" does not have its own forum. This seems like a no-brainer to me. Moderators are you listening?

I agree: this is neither news nor commentary. So I'll move it to the Lounge.

I'm going to develop a new type of e-reader. With a screen on the opposite side blinking and flashing the cover of the book the owner is currently reading. So everyone knows.

... or the cover of a book you want them to think you're reading (War and Peace for Love's Tortured Heart [fake title]).

I think the polite thing to do when reading an ebook in a public place is every few minutes announce out loud what you are reading. I think people appreciate it when I scream out "The Mark by Jason Pinter" ever so often. I know this because when I leave a public space people tend to look very happy. Some even applaud.

Anyway, somebody with a Jetbook would only pop up to ask why it took them 18 months to get a forum and this forum started almost immediately (lights blue touch paper and runs away...) |
