There's still a plethora of options.
iOS + iPhoneExplorer seems to work reasonably.
The Android readers are able to be rooted, which means you can access the files directly
And if all those get locked down, someone will release a Python script to download libraries.

At some point, though, I just don't want to deal with the hassle. Kobo makes it easy. B&N used to make it easy, but now I'm worried they'll do their damnedest to make it harder. It's frustrating.

B&N has just released an update to the beta software update. The new release is 48.3.12.
According to B&N, it fixes some problems discovered by a few of the beta testers. I have just downloaded it. B&N recommends doing an Erase & Deregister after installing this version.

So far, I don't see any differences between this version and previous beta version.

Thanks for telling us.

Installed it, don't see anything different. I guess they addressed stability issues.
But one bug from the last beta is still there: the disconnect for USB function.
The connected screen on the Nook doesn't go away after you eject the drive from a PC.

And please keep telling us when you get updates!

Yeah, I keep an eye on this thread to see when/if it is pushed out as the new standard for all Glowlight 3s.

What were the stability issues?

The Developers at B&N said they hoped this would be the last beta before they released it to the public.

If you know of any "issues" please respond and I will forward them to the Developers.

Actually, this may be an opportunity to ask them to fix/correct most any issues. So, if you have any suggestions, please respond, ASAP.

Like I said, there is an issue that when eject the Nook from a computer, the USB mode does not turn off on the Nook.

And since you have a channel directly to the developers, I want to lobby once more for an option to access the internal web browser, like you have on the Kindle. (Without having to load a launcher, etc.)

Also if you could get them to darken the dictionary text some -- that would be nice.

Yeah, that's kind of weird. Seems like a bug.

I would like to see them give the option to remove the book title while reading. I don't see the point of having that on every page.

Not just the dictionary, the chapter titles also. Or, at least, the option to do so.

Yeah what the heck is that all about? I can read it fine. But some darker text in dictionary entries would go a long way towards making the dictionary more pleasant.
