Hellz no man. But it seems to have a curious appeal to both genders. The HBO adaptation scored well with women from what I read.

if you haven't heard much about season 2 here's a tidbit from ign and why season 2 is 10 episodes long same as the first.

During the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, HBO executives Richard Plepler and Michael Lombardo were asked about the fact that Game of Thrones: Season 2 will only be ten episodes again, even as the books they're being adapted from get longer as they go on.

The execs said, "If we could do 12 episodes, we would," but that the creators of the show couldn't "physically make more than 10" given the show's scope, size and cost without either having there be more than a year-long delay between seasons or the quality being diluted. Game of Thrones was renewed while Season 1 was airing, long after it had wrapped production. It will be interesting to see if Season 3 (and beyond) get earlier renewals, giving the team more time to work – and perhaps allow for longer seasons.

Thanks! The HBO series is simply awesome IMO. While I would have preferred more episodes of course, I will take quality over quantity any day.

here's a bit more info on season 2 and the new characters that will be showing up.
for someone like myself that hasn't read the books it's a good base to get to know who's who and what their roles are. it's not really in depth just gives you a brief description of who they're tied to in the series and who the actors will be.

well I was wondering who they would come up with for Brienne. now I know she is blond, British, and 6'3, and not a lot more!
