I wandered away from the site and didn't even realize it. I popped in yesterday to see if anyone had information about the ebooks now being offered at bookshop.org and I noticed my signature had my reading list from 2021!

My reading has dropped off quite a bit over the past few years -- every year I seem to read half as many books as the year before. I challenged myself to read a few minutes every day last April, and it worked out well, but I dropped it at the end of the month and I think I'm still reading that same book.

I'm going to sign up again this year and try to get back into the habit, although I'm a little sad that I will have a break in my tallies.

I've finished Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. It's quite good. There's going to be a movie.

I'm doing well with my Storygraph challenge. I've got three months completed. I'm behind on number of pages read and I realized as I was updating my stats in the other thread that I'm back to the same number of books on my TBR list as when I started the year. I'm sure it will go down once I lose access to Metropolitan's Overdrive collection in May. I've been trying to get to books I won't have access to before it expires.

This year I've made a commitment to read more books in Dutch, the most beautiful language on Earth (I actually mean it!). Reading in Dutch brings me so much joy!

February and March didn't quite go to plan. I'm now UP 22 books on the start of the year.

I shall try to resist better in April.

I've read 5 of my 12 books. One was a slog to get through as it was very boring and had no real plot. This one is Weather by Jenny Offill. It was 90 ADE pages long. But it felt a lot longer.

I've read 10 of my 24 and am in the middle of the 11th. I only ended up dropping one of them, which I am quite pleased with.

I joined a book club this year, and that has somehow slowed down my reading somewhat. The current book is one that I suggested and I'm enjoying it. However, I don't want to read too far ahead, I feel guilty when I read a different book and now I'm not reading anything at all. LOL

The weather is finally turning (it was above freezing this morning!) and I told the dogs we might start taking a book outside for a while in the mornings. (I don't read to them, but they enjoy sitting in the sun with me.)

For this year's challenge, I'm doing well and am projected to read almost twice my goal. I typically slow down in the summer so that estimate is a little optimistic, but close enough.

I've hit a couple milestones the past month:

• 100,000,000 words read since I started tracking my reading in 2011. Yay!
• Read books published in 150 different years. The oldest being from 1717.

I slashed my numeric goals for the year, and am in consequence well ahead on both page and book count, and the MR TBR reduction Challenge. I had forgotten all about my "read more poetry" challenge, but thanks to having Overdrive properly setup, I now have 2 loans that will complement 2 purchases made today, and those 4 will let me tick that box too.

I did a tiny bit better. I bought 11 and read 12, so I'm now up 21 on the start of the year.
