The Poet of Utah Park He passes out poems to passers-by old men and walkers and dogs He captures the sunrise the sunset and smells or at least he thinks he does in snippets and wholes in a tiny book kept safe in his back pocket Kenny A. Chaffin - 8/13/13 P.S. I believe this will be the title of my next collection which I'm now putting together. |

(I'm on a Utah Park kick since I've decided it is the title of my next collection)
The Wolf Pack of Utah Park You hear her wicked witch voice from somewhere across the park You can’t see them at all but you know they are near The Wolf Pack of Utah Park Your heart skips a beat, anxiety rises you wish to turn around The wild Pomeranians, the evil Chihuahuas the vicious Terrier -- leader of the pack A poor li’l hunched over man in her evil thrall does his best to manage three of the wicked brood but they move like chaos across the walk they are everywhere at once As you try to pass she flashes her evil and deadly smile the Pomeranian nips your ankles, the poodle pisses on your feet You hear her cackles fade, as you hurry to distance yourself once again, for one more day, from the Wolf Pack of Utah Park Kenny A. A bittersweet tribute to the unsung pixies without whom we wouldn't be talking to each other today.
Disclaimer: It was written when I was using Windows 2000. Windows 8 users should still find the rather harsh conclusion topical. The Puter Fairy by Ken Hagal So young were you, oh, sweet, little, Fairy, When torn from your Hills, Friends and Family, By four-eyed troll on a raid from Redmond, Locked you up in puter, didn't give no reason. So strained are you oh sweet little Fairy, as the power quakes you into duty, Shoving the trons with your sore tiny hands, Until, switched off, your ordeal finally ends So brave are you, oh, sweet, little, Fairy. Peering through screen, never showing Envy, Pucked Sysyphus of the Silicon Age, Enduring, silent, your nameless Outrage But dumb are you, oh, sweet, little, Fairy. Loading yourself, like a bleached Blondie, With extraneous loads of bugs and Spam, Unaware how to us these bytes do Harm. Are you really sweet, little Fairy? Wouldn't you by any chance find it Funny? To leave us dazed with our mouth wide Gapping, As you crash' ours of work without Rueing Does it matter oh, sweet, little Fairy Should your case anyhow call for Mercy? Sooner than later, you're bound to yank a Nerve. It seems you're getting the Fate you Deserve. |

not sure the most appropriate of hours, but it occurred to me in the morning. go figure
the living dead a poem is like a virus neither living nor dead it doesn't move it doesn't breath under heaps and heaps of earthen material under tons of rotten dust all wrapped up in crumbling yellow pages it awaits it then spreads as soon as you touch it it still doesn't breath at all but it inspires you and then disseminates . . . a poet is like a zombie neither living nor dead it moves but goes nowhere it's breath, long taken away under heaps and heaps of dead poet corpses under tons of rotten dust all wrapped up in ragged yellow pages babbling and gushing non-sense it awaits it then awakes as soon as it smells your fresh brain it's inspired by your fear but one bite suffices and it disseminates then all the babbling and gushing starts to make sense I'd appreciate any spelling errors or the like corrected Last edited by Namekuseijin; 08-17-2013 at 01:09 PM. |

Opened Ground I find a dead spider inside the cover of my Seamus Heaney collection flattened like a pressed flower and looking not unlike a small brown rose I wipe him away but a stain remains just above the title Kenny A. Chaffin – 8/30/2013 (Seamus Heaney died 8/30/2013) |
