I used the poke2 color when it first came out as my main e-reader for a year before getting the leaf 2 for the page turn buttons. Got the inkpad color 3 because I heard that it was the most vibrant color display even though there are some details lost due to the over saturation. Seeing it in person though it is so dark as compared to any BW e-reader. There is also a noticeable screen door effect I hadn't noticed in the videos and pictures I saw when researching. Will probably end up returning it if I can't tune it out in the next week.

I just purchased Kobo Clara Colour. The options are limited here in India. No Kindles or Kobo B/W options on Amazon. As this is my 1st E Ink device I'm pretty happy with it. KOreader works great. Heavy size PDFs (e.g. newspapers, magazines) takes bit time to load the pages, otherwise I'd say it's a good experience so far.
From now on I hope to interact more actively on this forum. Bit offtopic questions: How do I enable or configure notification for this forum website or mail? I don't get the notifications if others replied to my comment. Or how do I subscribe to threads I like? |

I bought the Kobo Libra Color only because the B&W model was out of stock. Although I had no particular interest in color e-readers I've been surprised by how much I like it! Color highlighting for annotations is fun. It's nice to have color covers, even if the colors are muted.

While I consider a color e-ink device to be nice it's not essential to me. LCD is good enough for color. A monochrome e-ink is good enough for reading ebooks.

I think color e-ink e-readers would be fun to use with coloring books, like the Dover books. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this?
I am still getting in the groove with my plain-jane e-ink ones, myself. But I do love to color when I can. |

I'm tempted, just so I can see the covers in color, but I need a sage color with a larger screen than clara or libra have.

You could buy a Remarkable Paper Pro to display the covers while you read the book on another device.

You can export covers from Calibre and put them on a tablet. Or have a clear wallet on the front of a Sage cover and put in a printed cover of your current book. If you use a sleep cover you'd hardly see the book cover on the reader. |

Well, my status has changed since this poll came out. I decided to purchase the Colorsoft. I prefer the symetrical design of the Kindle to the asymmetrical design of the Kobo Libre (or the Kindle Oasis). I also prefer a flush screen, so I sacrificed page turn buttons. So far I am really enjoying it. I am a little disappointed that the screen is darker so the covers are not as visible when it is asleep. I also keep the light turned up a bit higher so the battery life is not as good. All that said, it is lightening fast and I love seeing my library in color as well as any illustrated books I have.
Is it worth the exorbitant price that Amazon is charging? Probably not, but I like it. |

That's if you read ebooks with color images, of course. I don't. Those very few books with color photos or illustrations I do read I buy on paper. I don't read comics. 99,9% of my reading material is black and white novels or nonfiction.

Most stuff that needs colour isn't even available for an actual eink Kindle and often needs the 14.25" tablet. |
