What goes between <title></title>?

After doing some reading I have decided to split a large book I am converting by hand from PDF to ePub into chapters and sub-chapters. Practically, everywhere a newpage might fit calls for a new file.

I am doing this with the help of Sigil and it outputs the same empty file structure. Now, as the TOC is generated from the headings, what's the use of having a HTML title?

It could be that the <title></title> will remain, but there needs to be no text between the tags.

Just leave it empty.

You are not going to get any different answers than the same thread you started in Sigil. Eventually this thread will contain all the same answers. Title is required by xhtml standard and will be flagged if not present. The contents is not important but the other thread already covered this well.
